| Day 5 - Monkey Magic (Seiyuki II) TV show |
[Sep. 17th, 2006|10:35 pm] |
Day 5 - OK . I'm massively jet lagged. I have no idea what's going on with school as it's Monday and they didn't schedule us to do anything that day. Then later on that night... 10pm. I turn on the TV and hear this.....
Mp3 1 - Monkey Magic - Fighting starts
Drum solos starting out a fight scene and then going into an awesome disco funk song sung in English. Any show with drum solos in it for a start of a fight scene is always a winner in my book.
So what show is this? Luckily I could find it online. It's this old show from the 1979 called Saiyuki II in Japanese or Monkey Magic for the lucky folk in the UK! That's right there is a DVD of this out somewhere in English. But even if your Japanese skills are not so good you can pretty much understand the show. Here's a bumper and another scene
Mp3 2 - Monkey Magic - Bumper
Mp3 3 - Monkey Magic - Water Dump Funk
Ah yes. I had the TV turned all the way up. This show rocks. It the music reminds me of CHiPs but the show is based on Japanese mythological charters fighting over some evil yokai monsters. The lead guy is Monkey (Goku). He can get special powers from the gods and stuff. The music in the first mp3 kind of explains that so let me shut up and let you listen to some more...
Mp3 4 - Monkey Magic - Sfx 1
Mp3 5 - Monkey Magic - Princess Sfx
Mp3 6 - Monkey Magic - Synth Ballad
Mp3 7 - Monkey Magic - Bumper 2
Mp3 8 - Monkey Magic - Fire and Stones Another great fightiing music part
If you're looking for this on DVD I recommend you call Rick up at the DRUNKEN MASTER store or email him ASAP. Monkey Magic is cheesy action fighting martial arts winner. Fun, silly action with awesome music.
If anyone wants to watch the show via my camera hit me up on Yahoo messenger djtoucan. Monkey Magic (Saiyuki II) starts at 6am for anyone in LA or 9am for New York.
Also the music is by some group called Godiego (Godaigo in Japanese) more on them next time? |

| Day 1 - Inseat mash ups, eating ice cream and this is captain speaking |
[Aug. 27th, 2006|11:05 pm] |
Welcome to my first audio blog.. If there is no audio I don't blog about it... I'm getting behind so lets start off with day 1.....
So here I am going to Japan for school on Korean Air. Unfortunately there is no in seat entertainment except for the inseat radio. For some people this would be 12 hours of torture but then again I had my Roland R-1 in my backpack so I could record the line out from my seat.
-------------------------------------- First up was my want to record some of my trademark .... Inseat/inflight audio mash ups
Just go to one music channel and mix in the surrounding channels with the current audio. The more channels and music you can sync on time the better. Here are 2 mp3 examples..
DJ Toucan inseat/inflight audio mash up 1MP3
DJ Toucan inseat/inflight audio mash up 2 MP3
I used to do this on many flights in the past but due to everyone going to one of those remote control inflight gaming/movie systems doing these mash ups are not easy to come by anymore. The newer seats controls aren't fast and responsive as the inseat audio controls that were luckily still on my airplane...
--------------------------------------- Dancing eating ice cream
After doing mash ups for a while (20min), I found some bizarre song on the Korean pop channel.. All I heard was the lyrics "dancing eating ice cream" being sung over some stupid electro disco beat...
Dancing Eating Ice Cream (DJ Toucan inseat remix) MP3
I now find out it's this group Baby's Gang Feat. Boney M. - Happy Song here's the horrid video for this horrid song :)

--------------------------------------- This is captain speaking....
Ok after many hours of disbelief of the current song above,,.. The captain comes on the radio to announce your 12 hour flight is now coming to an end..
This is captain speaking MP3
Thanks for listening.. More stuff soon.............. DJ Toucan |
